About Us

Gideon's Army Children Center

They blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted,

“A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”

- Judges 7:20

Our Story

Gideon’s Army Children’s Center began in a very simple way. As the original youth of Soldiers for Christ Discipling Ministries grew older, many of them began starting families of their own. When the first baby was born into the ministry, what began as loving care for one child quickly grew into something much greater.

In the back of a small church room, Miss Crystal began caring for that first child during services, using simple toys, activities, and moments of prayer to introduce him to Jesus. As more children were born into the ministry, the need for a children’s space grew, and Gideon’s Army Children’s Center was formed.

Today the ministry continues to grow as more families join and more children become part of our church family.

Our heart is to disciple children, not simply teach them about God, but to help them truly know Him. We teach children how to pray, how to recognize God’s presence, and how to grow in love, kindness, and unity with others.

Prayer is central to everything we do. We believe in the faith of children and encourage them to bring every situation to the Lord, whether it is something small or something big. Through prayer, teaching, and fellowship, children learn to trust God and grow in their relationship with Him.

Gideon’s Army serves children from ages 1 to 12. Because of the wide range of ages, lessons are adapted so each child can learn at their stage of development. Minister Gina and Minister Crystal guide the children through age appropriate teaching, prayer, and activities that help them grow in faith and character.

Above all, we believe children are precious to the Lord.

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

- Matthew 19:14

“Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

- Matthew 18:3

At Gideon’s Army, we seek to protect the innocence of children while helping them grow in wisdom, discernment, and a strong foundation in God’s Word.

Meet The Team

Minister Crystal has faithfully served in Gideon’s Army Children’s Center for many years and has been a foundational part of nurturing and guiding the children within the ministry. With a deep love for the next generation, she is passionate about helping children grow in their faith and develop a strong relationship with the Lord from a young age.

She is known for her heart for prayer and regularly encourages children to bring every situation before God. Minister Crystal teaches the importance of prayer, faith, and spiritual awareness while helping guide children in understanding God’s Word and His presence in their lives.

As a deaconess within Soldiers for Christ Discipling Ministries, she faithfully serves in many areas of the church and brings wisdom, care, and spiritual strength to the children’s ministry. Parents and children alike know her as someone who is always ready to pray, support, and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. Her desire is to see every child grow in faith, confidence, and a strong foundation in Christ.

Minister Gina has been part of Soldiers for Christ Discipling Ministries for over seven years and has served in Gideon’s Army Children’s Center for the past five years. She has remained actively involved in the ministry through Bible classes, women’s gatherings, prayer calls, and discipleship under Apostle Sonia, while also serving alongside her brother in law and sister who pastor within the church.

In 2022, Gina began pursuing her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. Through this journey, the Lord placed a desire on her heart to combine her professional training with her love for children and her faith in Jesus Christ.

Through both biblical teaching and practical guidance, Gina helps children grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Drawing from her occupational therapy education, she supports children in developing emotional regulation, social skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their identity in Christ. Her heart is to help children build a strong foundation in their faith so they can grow into confident individuals who know the Lord and walk in the purpose God has for their lives.
